- walking on cornstarch happens to record as a better "footsteps in snow" than snow itself 
 
• Necessity
  - the window that Gary Cooper broke in High Noon was not made of real glass 
  - the boulder that chased Indiana Jones was not made of real stone 
  - the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are CGI (Computer Generated Images)

This is a illusion because…    Emission Pseudo Emitter Actual Emitter      Sound emitters on screen are pseudo-sound-emitters. Loudspeakers are actual emitters.

 Michel Chion use the term Spatial magnetization for the mental relocation of the sound emitter to an object on screen. This is made possible by the Audiovisual contract - the agreement to accept the pseudo-sound-emitters on screen as real.
